      Latest Toolbar Updates (Jan - March 2025)

      Here are the key highlights delivered from our Toolbar Roadmap between January and March 2025,

       

      NEW FEATURE: AI GENERATED -SIMPLIFIED CONTENT

      Too much text on a webpage can sometimes overwhelm users, especially those with cognitive disabilities, or users with conditions such as dyslexia or limited literacy. 

      Our Ai Generated -Simplified Content feature is designed to breakdown some of those challenges by reducing the amount of content whilst still retaining the important information.

      How does it work: 

      • When the feature is activated Recite Ai will attempt to simplify content on the page which exceeds 150 characters. 
      • The ability to exclude content from this feature can be achieved simply by adding ignore to the code. 

      • Information around  Recite Me Sub-Processors

      NEW FEATURE: HIDE IMAGES & VIEW IMAGE DESCRIPTION

       

      Users who have visual impairments, can get distracted by the decretive detail on a webpage therefore this feature will allow a user to: 

      • Hide the Images to allow them to focus on the key content 
      • View Image text, providing a user with the option to not only listen to Alt text either via our Text to Speech or a Screen Reader, but also view the image through text

      Our Hide Images and View Image description feature is accessed Page Options Icon.

      CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT

      As part of our Roadmap we have made enhancements to the following features:-

       

      DICTIONARY 


      • Incorporating a Search functionality , enhancing the user experience for all users but predominately keyboard users
      • Recite Ai Powered - Integrating Chat GPT to provide definitions - If you are interested to hear more about this then please contact your CSM.

      Introduction of a New  Page Options Icon in accessing the following features.

      Page Options includes the following features: 

      • Text Mode

      • Change Page Margins

      • Pause Audio and Video

      • Hide Images

      • View Alt Text

      NEW FEATURE:BRITISH SIGN LANGUAGE 

      This is not just a feature, but a commitment to inclusivity

       

      In Partnership with the award-winning Sign Solutions providers of Interpretation support for Deaf People, we're making online content more accessible for Deaf Users with our British Sign Language feature. 

      Users can experience seamless translation of web pages, empowering them to engage with online content in their first language. 

       
      How it works: 

      1. We start by collaborating with you to understand your unique requirements.

      2. Sign Solutions then creates the requested content, which you fully own.

      3. You store the videos and share their location with us.

      4. From there, we handle everything—adding the new Sign Solutions icon and linking the appropriate content to the relevant pages.

      5. Once the feature is live, users can easily navigate your site and clearly see where BSL support is available.
