2026 - Toolbar Release Notes

We continually enhance our Toolbar to ensure compliance, improve usability, and deliver exciting new features.              Below details our client product releases. 

We carefully plan our Releases to ensure they are a mix of accessibility, bug, technical and new feature delivery.  Doing so ensures we continue to build on and enhance the toolbar, but also minimise the impact of change for our end user.

13. Product: Toolbar

Release date: (planned)3rd June 

New Feature Release - Focus Audio - 

Our new Focus Audio feature is designed to support concentration and deeper reading of digital content by introducing gentle background audio. 

 

12. Product: Toolbar 
Version: 3.11.29

Release date: 12th May 

Small product release including some wording updates, and minor bug fixes. 

 

11. Product: Toolbar 
Version: 3.11.28

Release date: 27th April 

Includes a range of accessibility improvements and bug fixes.  Work was also completed to simplify how clients can customise the language dropdown.

 

10. Product: Toolbar 
Version: 3.11.27

Release date: 16th April 

Hotfix: Fix for British Sign Language Feature
Identified and resolved on the same day, restoring full functionality to the BSL feature.

 

9. Product: Toolbar 
Version: 3.11.26 (combining 24/25) 


Release date: Released 13th April 

Hide Toolbar on Zoom
Users can now hide the toolbar while zoomed in, providing more screen space and an improved viewing experience.

Client Opt-Out: Skip Toolbar Link
The toolbar includes a “skip to content” link by default. Clients now have the option to disable this feature on request.

Keyboard Navigation Enhancements
Improvements have been made to strengthen and streamline keyboard navigation across the toolbar. 

Feature Update: YouTube Video Integration for British Sign Language
Users can now attach videos hosted on YouTube to British Sign Language (BSL) features.

Technical and Minor UI Fixes
Various technical improvements and minor user interface refinements have been implemented.

Release date: 30th March 2026

Feature Update Dark Mode - Moved out of the Colour Theme feature and added to the toolbar, providing enhanced useability.   Clients also have the option to have Dark Mode set as standard on launch. 

New Feature - AI Transcripts for video-  Any Videos housed on your website can now Generate AI transcripts. 

Accessibility - Enhancement to our Focus Indicators to ensure consistency across all toolbar.

Overview

Feature Enhancement – The User Guide has been moved into the side modal, providing enhanced feature overviews while allowing users to continue using the toolbar, whilst they view.

What’s New /Improved

Enhancement to Language Feature

Our Language dropdown has been updated to improve clarity and usability.

The speaker icon on the drop down has been replaced with our Text to Speech (TTS).  Search functionality  has been enhanced which includes suggested results on incorrect input, and its now simple to specify which languages you you wish to appear at the top of the list.

Overview

This was a small maintenance release focused on fixing minor bug and useability fixes.

Overview

This release includes accessibility improvements along with updates the UI of our Dictionary Features. 

What’s New /Improved

Accessibility enhancement:

All icons now include a white outline,  for better contrast in Dark Mode.

Ruler and Screen Mask now feature improved colour labelling for better clarity.

Feature Enhancements:

To maintain a consistent user interface across the Toolbar the Dictionary has been moved into the side modal. 

Side Modal Multi-feature support:  Users can now enable and use multiple features simultaneously, giving greater flexibility and control over the features they choose.
